Cathcart Crosswalk

The community has been asking for a crosswalk on King Edward Avenue at Cathcart Street for around 15 years. This was the main reason for the protest in 2007, and it set off the campaign to tackle other unresolved issues. The community was been successful in obtaining a majority of the council to support the implementation of the crosswalk. As a result, special measures will need to be taken to calm traffic coming on and off of the bridge. This was a double victory for the community.
